Welcome to ADD Thursday where I tell you everything going on in my head!
I Took My Monthly Epic Nap Yesterday
First, I started writing this post yesterday but stopped to take my monthly epic nap. Does anyone else do this? About once a month I get so tired that I lay down to nap in the early afternoon — and sleep straight through to the next morning! (I get up to feed Mary and whatnot, but for the most part I sleep for 18 hours straight.) I know people talk about making up “sleep debt,” but I thought experts said that was a myth. Anyway, I feel recharged today, so let’s move on to one of my favorite topics — clothes!
Leopard Pants
The leopard pants I ordered from the UK are on their way! They started in Castleford and are currently in West London, and I’m hoping to get them sometime next week. In the meantime, I’m trying to figure out what to wear with them.
I think this Ganni top is cute, but it costs $185 so I bought an Amazon dupe that’s only $20. I don’t know what it will look like IRL because the Amazon pic is literally stolen from the Ganni website, but we shall see. I also think a pop of red looks cute with these pants, so I ordered a red padded headband too.
The reason I’m kind of into headbands is…
Good Manners
I recently discovered a fashion influencer on Instagram named Charlotte (@goodmannersstyle) who always wears headbands and looks so cute.
I’m a big fan of Charlotte’s style. It’s casual and playful but adult. (Like, how cute are these striped pants? [They’re sold out. 😔])
Back to the headbands, Charlotte started selling them on her website, but she only ships to the UK right now. So let’s see what the red one from Amazon is like. I also found a few cute ones on Etsy too.
If it seems like I’m shopping a lot lately, it’s because…
Dammit, Oprah!
I’ve lost 45 pounds on Weight Watchers and GLP-1s!
I started Weight Watchers about a year ago and lost 15 pounds. Then I took compounded Wegovy and lost another 15 pounds. Now I’m on Zepbound and I’ve lost another 15 pounds. Everything was going great until Oprah did that special on ABC a couple of weeks ago. Now the medication is backordered and I can’t get it. Luckily I’ve changed my eating habits, so I’ll hopefully be okay until I can get it again. It will be a good test if anything.
Anyway, I know the BMI chart is bullshit, but I recently left the ‘obese’ category and I’m now in the ‘overweight’ category. Here’s a picture of what a 45-pound weight loss looks like on me. The ‘before’ was taken last summer and was why I started Weight Watchers. When I saw the pic I wouldn’t let any of my friends post it because I hated how I looked.
