Step aside, Ashton and Mila, there’s a new cringe sheriff in town.
That’s right, I’m talking about the event the city of Highland Park, the Alliance for Human Services, Family Focus, Moraine Township, and the Highland Park Community Foundation attempted to throw last weekend. Spoiler alert? It was a poverty simulation event.
Some background first: Highland Park is a wealthy suburb on Chicago’s North Shore where the median home price is $799,000. It’s set on Lake Michigan and has a picture-perfect downtown.
