You guys, my dad is getting a scooter.

I’m still trying to process this.

He called me four times before 7:30 AM today just to share the news, and honestly, I don’t even know where to start.

To truly understand why the idea of my dad on a scooter is both hilarious and terrifying, you need to know more about him. I was going to tell you all his stories right here in this post, but it quickly turned into a novel, so I’ve decided to kick off a series called Stories About My Dad: These Are the Genes I’m Fighting.

Whenever I do something weird, cut corners, or get crafty with a fix, my sister laughs and says, “You’re just like Dad,” and I’m left screaming, “Nooooooo!” Because I’m battling his genes every day, and it’s a losing fight.
