And we're back with the last day of The Pivot, although it's been a week and now I sort of forget why I was calling it The Pivot in the first place.
Regardless, here’s a related story about pivoting before I get to the final three traits that successful people share. My friend Jolene is a brilliant artist and photographer. Given her fine art background and training, she's particularly capable of taking striking photos. Below is my favorite ever photo of myself, taken after a night of drinking in the thirty seconds it took before the cab arrived and I poured myself inside.
We had escaped the hipster restaurant we'd been in because a jug band showed up. That's not a pejorative. An actual band where someone blew into a cider jug to make music showed up and began to play. The only thing I hate more than live music when I'm trying to talk is UNEXPECTED live music. But I digress.
Anyway, until she gets the fame she deserves for her work, she supplements her craft with jobs in the service industry. (If you're in the tri-state area, hire her to photograph your event. You shan't be sorry.)
One of her service industry regulars is David Schwimmer. Apparently, he's the nicest guy in the world. Polite as can be and genuinely interested in the people around him. That makes me happy because he could be a dick and everyone would still love him for having played Ross.
