I bought a cool thing a couple of weeks ago. It’s a card pack called ICEBREAKER and it’s a bunch of discussion questions meant to be used for “breaking the ice and forging meaningful relationships.”

The reason I bought this cool thing is that Karyn and I have invited everyone in the Founding Membership tier to attend one of our girl group’s Friday night Zoom calls. We often play games and some of us (ahem, me) get so profoundly aggressive and win so poorly that we were afraid our honored guests would end up hating us (ahem, me).

Actual footage of me protesting my Scattergories score.

One of our group members is Joanna, my freshman college roommate. You’d think after almost forty years of friendship, which included a shared dorm room and then apartment, and multiple girls’ trips to a handful of countries, there’d be no new ground to cover. But even she and I have learned new stuff and heard new stories about each other over the course of a few plays.
